What is in the treatment?

Finasteride, a daily tablet that blocks DHT (the hormone behind male pattern hair loss), and minoxidil, a scalp spray that supports regrowth. The two most clinically established treatments, prescribed together.

Is this the same treatment I would get from my GP?

Yes. Finasteride and minoxidil are the same clinically proven medicines a GP or dermatologist would prescribe.

Do I need a prescription?

Finasteride is prescription-only. Our consultation is your prescription route: an independent prescriber reviews your answers before anything is dispensed.

How is this different from buying finasteride elsewhere online?

Can women use it?

No. These treatments are for men with male pattern hair loss. Women, and anyone who is pregnant, should not use or handle the medication.

Why can I not return medication?

For safety, prescription medicines cannot be returned or reused once dispensed. If something is wrong with your order, message us and we will put it right.

How long until I see results?

Most men see a change at three to six months. Reduced shedding usually comes first, then visible regrowth follows.

Is some shedding normal at the start?

Yes. Some early shedding is normal as the hair cycle resets. It settles within the first few months and is not a sign that treatment is not working.

What happens if I stop treatment?

Hair loss gradually returns over the following months, as with any finasteride or minoxidil treatment. These medicines work while you take them.

A standardised photo of your scalp taken at each haircut by your partner barber. The app builds a side-by-side timeline so you can see the progress the mirror misses.

Do I need a partner barber to use Chairside Scan?

Yes. Find one using the shop finder in the app, or suggest your barber and we will reach out to them.

Who sees my scan photos?

Your scan photos are accessible only to you, our clinical team, and the reviewing pharmacist. Your barber does not have access to them. Photos are stored securely and never used in marketing without your consent.
